Global Outreach
Local and Global Outreach
While HPN is a for-profit organization, we operate as a non-profit, carefully investing time, resources and funds back into R&D and targeted outreach to local and global initiatives.
Examples of outreach initiatives supported by HPN WorldWide include:
- SIM International – Evangel Teaching Hospital (Jos, Nigeria)
- SIM International – Targeted Community Health Ministries (Jos, Nigeria)
- UNICEF - Indonesian Tsunami Outreach
- American Red Cross – Indonesian Tsunami Outreach
- American Red Cross – Katrina/New Orleans Outreach
- Presbyterian Disaster Relief – Katrina/New Orleans Outreach
- Other Groups – Katrina/New Orleans Outreach
We encourage outreach at a local and global level to make the world a better place for many others.
As you know, there are huge disparities around the world the most of the world’s population including lack of clean drinking water, widespread poverty and many diseases (malaria, TB, leprosy, AIDS, polio, blindness) in addition to periodic famines. Lack of education, basic health care and relief from debt/trade inequities are among the root causes of these issues and threats to a safe and peaceful world.
The world becomes a better place by helping to address these issues – whether it is one person, one family, project or community at a time.
The more each of us can do, the bigger difference we will make.
If you have not already seen it, in your spare time we recommend watching Sara McLachlan’s music video World On Fire. The streaming media version has been posted for many months at her web site www.worldonfire.ca We hope the posting continues into the future.
It inspires in many ways - revealing global needs and many examples of how to help. Watch the slides carefully, they move faster as the song progresses. |
